Getting a chance to blog is becoming a rare event. Spring Break lived up to its name. We had some great weather and a break. YES you heard me correctly we have a broken leg among us. Lincoln has a broken tibia. Here is the story of how it went down.
We finally made it to the Zoo as a family and it was awesome. It took us 2 hours to get in the car with 6 lunches, diaper bag, choo choo wagon and fully clothed but we were determined to go with every other Okie. We had a lovely day. The trips did great Elinor loved the birds and fish, Lincoln the outdoors and goats, and Josephine loved the monkeys and running around. Everyone commented on the wagon most not realizing that they were triplets. We had many hold ups but my favorite was when we were waiting in the small holding room to go into the “bird petting zoo”. While the guide was explaining the rules two birds escaped the area and took shelter under the wagon. The babies did not understand the fuss as we could not move the wagon due to possibly crushing the prize birds to death. The guide then attempted to lure the birds out… she said we usually just pick up the stroller. Well thats not going to happen there are 3 of them connected.
After all of the animal fun we had a quick lunch then off to the park. Unfortunately that’s were Lincoln’s leg broke. Being the great and loving big sister Paige is she was trying to help the babies have fun at the park. She had Lincoln between her legs but his shoe got caught on the slide which caused his leg to buckle behind him and Paige roll over it going down. He immediately started to scream but i was able to calm him down by the time we got out of the zoo. He would not put any pressure on his leg but seemed okay if i held him, took a long nap afterward but woke up and would not walk. Off to the emergency room we went for a long night. Now he is in a cast for we are hoping a total of 4 weeks. we are about half way there.
Its been tough with Lincoln being injured but he is such a trooper and won’t let anything stop him. Overall he has done fantastic only gets frustrated when he gets left behind or he wants to hurry. He is now walking around some with the cast and has not stopped climbing or playing at Gymboree. He loves to give hugs and kisses. Well he really likes for Barks to give him kisses. He demands to be outside most days and riding around in the wagon. We had to turn his carseat around due to his leg… he thinks its AWESOME. I will look back at him and he will just be smiling looking at stuff pass us by. His new word is Apple, new sign is dog and he can now play the harmonica. Before he broke his leg lincoln had mastered the technique needed to get into the triplet table by himself. It gave me a heart attack the first time the second time I grabbed the camera like any true mother would do. Enjoy the picture sequence. Josie’s reaction is funny.
She is so active and loves loves to play. She has been great with Lincoln’s injury and often gets the push toys for him or will sit with him to play. She likes to be in the back of the van sitting next to Paige. She is really into snacking all day long. She likes to carry her bowl of snacks from room to room. She also tries to tease the dog with them. She has alot to say but not many distinct words over and over again. I hear her say something once. She is not as interested in signing back to me but understands when I do it. She is particular about what shoes she will or will not wear in a day. Her favorite game to play is catch.
She is one little stinker and daddy’s girl. Man she has some personality and will let you know what she is thinking. She often gets into trouble for being bossy and getting her siblings. She is the life of Gymboree… loud, says hello to everyone, and makes sure all of the employees are doing their job. She is so head strong and determined. She loves to sign her new favorites are bird, airplane and dog. She is always the first up in the morning and the first to spot an airplane in the sky. She loves it when Paige comes home from school and dad from work. She runs to them both for a hug. She has many expressions and can arch her back the best when throwing a fit. She likes any words where you scrunch up your face like cookie or clap.
